30.08.2017 Over the next three years, SMC is building five new cement plants with a total annual capacity of 10 million tons. Affiliates Northern Cement and Eagle Cement will build the new plants in Pangasinan, Bulacan, Quezon, Davao and Cebu, with a capacity of two million metric tons each.
The new PG facility will utilize propylene oxide (PO) derived from the new, sustainable hydrogen peroxide to propylene oxide (HPPO) technology, developed jointly by Dow and BASF SE. The HPPO plant is being constructed as part of the integrated joint venture liquids cracker and derivatives project in Thailand with Siam Cement Group (SCG).
